Mac: Hi my name is Phineas L. MacGuire but people call me Mac. I was really sad because my best friend Marcus moved away to Kansas. We were the best scientific team. Since Marcus moved away, I had a un-best friend. His name is Mac R. He moved here from Seattle, he said people from Seattle are geniuses and people from our state are stupid. I hated him. Ben: Hi my name is Mac R. I’m so glad I got a chance to be partners with you. Mac: Mac R. was so excited to be partners with me for the science fair. I wasn’t exited at all, he wanted to a stupid volcano with dinosaurs around it. Dinosaurs are so third grade. Plus, I didn’t want to do a volcano with anyone but Marcus. Ben: We practiced our project, and I showed him my plans. Mac: I noticed a name in the corner it said Ben. I asked Mac R who’s Ben? He said “That’s me I just wanted to fit in.” We went to school on Wednesday and while we were in class we heard a knocking sound coming from the closet. Nobody wanted to open it so Mrs. Tuttle came to the back and opened it. A paint brush fell out and there was nothing there. So me and Aretha went to figure out what happened. It turned out it was just mice making a nest out of our art supplies. Ben: I ended up bringing the supplies for our science project and my mom drove the volcano to the science fair. Mac: I was getting out the supplies and noticed there was no vinegar. I asked Ben where the vinegar was. Ben: I left it at home. Mac: After I told Aretha that Ben left the vinegar at his house she gave us lemon juice. Ben: the eruption was great! Mac: Our project didn’t win first, second, or third place, but it did win an honorable mention.
